The Central Station area, also known as “New” Central Station, is located at the westernmost end of the Thessaloniki city center. For many decades it was an important center of the city’s commercial and formerly well-developed small textile business life.
It had been derelict for several years due to the economic crisis and the flight of most commercial and other uses from the city.
The area is slowly but steadily changing, as has happened in the past in other nearby areas like “Valaoritou”. In 2023, the first phase of the Thessaloniki Metro will be completed, being the starting point of all its lines. Buildings are being converted into apartments for people who prefer to be close to the city center without having to pay high rents. The area has awakened and “THE PLAN C”, true to its philosophy of transformation in order to create a new whole that combines the old with the new, created “NIREAS”.
We renovated a self-owned apartment in a residential building of very good condition and developed the apartment complex “NIREAS” with 3 micro-apartments (22-25 m²). Ancient Greek traditions depict “NIREAS” as a gentle, kind and lovable old man and we believe the name is very appropriate.
“NIREAS” is located 200 meters from Thessaloniki’s main train station and 500 meters from “One Salonica Mall” which offers shops, a multiplex cinema, restaurants and cafes and a large supermarket. Access to transport is guaranteed as “NIREAS” is 3 minutes away from the bus station and future terminal metro station. Located 5 minutes by car and 20 minutes walking from Aristotelous Square and the White Tower, “NIREAS” offers direct access to the national road to Athens and the other cities of Northern Greece, easy access to the ones for the rest of Greece and the neighboring countries, and to the Port of Thessaloniki.
